Giving Tuesday
On Giving Tuesday, we hope you will join us by helping patients at McLaren Greater Lansing with transportation.
Recently, there has been an increase in patients requiring assistance with transportation after receiving care at the hospital. We would like to be able to provide bus passes and other transportation as needed, and we are asking for your help.
Transportation options for medical appointments are a regular topic raised by callers to Central Michigan 2-1-1. According to the 2023 American Community Survey, 3.0% of Ingham County households have no private vehicle available. Rates are higher in certain areas, as high as 5.5%. Transportation was repeatedly identified as a barrier to accessing healthcare, food, employment, and other essential services in South Lansing and across Ingham County.
